Visitors learning to make briquettes

10-day endeavor to our PCwS compound and partner orphanages and children’s centers in the Jinja District of Uganda.

$1,500 per person includes: Airport pick-up/drop-off, accommodations at our safe & secure compound in Bugembe; traditional home-made daily African breakfast, lunch, and dinner; orphanage supply purchase allotments; vehicle rental & fuel costs; free bottled water; free wi/fi internet access; all compound beds have linens, mattresses & mosquito nets.  A minimum of 2 and maximum of 6 visitors are requested per trip.

Does not include:   Airfare to/from Uganda (KLM Airlines has the best direct flight website, $1,250-$1,800), anti-malaria pills, entrance visa $50, trip snacks, souvenirs, sun tan lotion, travel clothing, immunizations (check with your doctor), travel insurance, & goodbye tears.

Patrick will personally plan your trip based on your flight dates with his staff in Uganda. Trips must be planned at least 2 months in advance to coordinate all accommodations and orphanage/children center visits.  Your full team’s payment by check, paypal, or website donation widget is required before Patrick will begin planning.

This is a typical 10-day itinerary:

Sunday Evening: Pickup from Entebbe airport (90 minutes from compound)

Monday: Breakfast, rest, plan, visit and partake in making fuel briquettes with widows at the production site, have lunch, work some more, come back to the compound to have dinner, relax.

Tuesday: Breakfast, depart for orphanage/children’s center #1, come back for lunch, return back to orphanage, go shopping for needs of the location, have dinner at compound, rest.

Wednesday: Breakfast, depart for orphanage/children’s center #1, deliver purchased goods, come back for lunch, return back to orphanage/children’s center, leave & have dinner at compound, rest.

Thursday: Breakfast, depart for orphanage/children’s center #2, come back for lunch, return back to orphanage, go shopping for needs of the location, have dinner at compound, rest.

Friday: Breakfast, depart for orphanage/children’s center #2, deliver purchased goods, come back for lunch, return back to orphanage/children’s center, leave & have dinner at compound, rest.

Saturday: Day of site seeing; souvenir shopping, etc., visit Kampala fuel briquette production site.

Sunday: Day of rest; walk around Bugembe; etc.

Monday: Breakfast, depart for orphanage #3, come back for lunch, return back to orphanage, go shopping for needs of the location, have dinner at compound, rest.

Tuesday: Breakfast, depart for orphanage/children’s center #3, deliver purchased goods, come back for lunch, return back to orphanage/children’s center, leave & have dinner at compound, rest.

Wednesday: Breakfast, depart for orphanage/children’s center #4, come back for lunch, return back to orphanage, go shopping for needs of the location, have dinner at compound, rest.

Thursday: Breakfast, depart for orphanage/children’s center #4, deliver purchased goods, come back for lunch, return back to orphanage/children’s center, leave & have dinner at compound, rest.

Thursday Evening/Friday Morning: Depart for Entebbe airport from compound. (90 minutes to airport)
